On Saturday, September 3, 2011 more than 1000 Muslims converged on Masjid Abu Bakr Siddiq to celebrate the end of the blessed month of Ramadan. The American Society for Islamic Awareness, Clearlake Islamic Center, Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH), Muslim American Society (MAS-Houston), IMAN Academy, and Masjid Warithuddeen Mohammed came together to provide our youth an action packed celebration. The future of our Islamic society could be seen climbing to new heights on the rock wall, leaping over obstacles (and each other) in 4 different bounce houses, preparing for visits from college basketball recruiters in the gym (both boys and girls), along with some scientific exploration with the game of laser tag. Vendors, dominos and good conversation was the entertainment for the Ramadan Veterans. The food was plentiful and fit the carnival theme. Allah even allowed for beautiful weather, giving us all a welcome relief from a record setting scorcher of a Ramadan. There were even 4 rainbows spotted throughout the day, but not even enough rain to wet a sheet of paper.       As a special benefit to all of those who came out in support of the event, because of you, we were able to raise $1,200 for Somali Flood Relief, help a Local High School MSA chapter and bring smiles to many children's faces on Eid!
